PRESSURE AND DAILY HEAT LOSS

The volume flow of liquid through the HeatTank’s heat exchanger is not high because higher demands usually covered by installing several HeatTank in parallel. Furthermore, not only are the larger demands distributed across multiple HeatTanks, but each HeatTank also includes many parallel pipe coils which the volume flow is distributed. Due to these, the hydraulic resistance of the HeatTank system is quite low.

Thanks to the PU foam insulation and the effect that heat loss makes a small part of the PCM change its phase around the walls of the storage (adding extra insulation). The graph shows the daily heat loss in the function of the temperature difference of the PCM and the external air. The heat loss of HeatTank is maximum 1-2%, as it is used for daily storage and the longest time it stores thermal energy is 8-10 hours.

The following figure shows the heat loss in the function of the temperature difference between the phase change material and the external environment.
