Why is heat transport beneficial? – An efficient, sustainable, and flexible solution for storing and delivering thermal energy

Heat transport opens up new horizons in energy storage and utilization, especially in situations where direct heat generation or a network connection is not feasible. When combined with the HeatTank Intelligent Thermal Battery, heat transport revolutionizes thermal energy supply for industrial facilities, public institutions, and residential buildings—making it safer, more economical, and more environmentally friendly.

Case Study: Application of the Intelligent Thermal Battery at a Kindergarten


In the tested system, heat was provided by a 70–80 kW heat pump, capable of charging the HeatTank system with a supply water temperature of up to 75°C. The heat was then stored in three HeatTank 50-1 Intelligent Thermal Batteries, mounted on a truck and functioning as a mobile heat transport unit. The stored thermal energy was used to heat a nearby kindergarten.


Depending on the output of the heat pump, the charging time ranged from 2.5 to 3.5 hours. Thanks to effective insulation and intelligent control, the daily heat loss of the Thermal Batteries was only 3–4%, allowing the stored energy to cover heating needs for several days—especially in low-demand environments such as a kindergarten.

HeatTank systems are easily transportable, eliminating the need for on-site heat generation or complex piping networks. This makes thermal energy accessible even in locations where direct utilization of renewable energy sources is difficult or impossible.


Thanks to the large heat storage capacity, the system can be charged outside peak hours at lower energy costs or by using renewable and waste heat sources, enabling significant savings during the heating season. The transport-integrated solution ensures that heat is used exactly where and when it is needed — all within a predictable and optimized operational framework.


HeatTank systems operate with intelligent control that automatically manages charging and discharging based on user demand. The extremely low heat loss guarantees that the energy is effectively utilized at the point of consumption with minimal losses.
